SUMMER Reading Explorers Club REQUIREMENTS
Bigfoot, Gnome, Loch ness monster, Unicorn, Dragon … catch them all during the summer of 2017! Participants need to read 5 books; however, NO BOOK REPORTS ARE REQUIRED! After reading book #1, the child will receive a reading Log. Each time a book is finished, the child will come to the library and tell a children’s librarian or a volunteer the title, and it will be written in the Log. This will be repeated 5 times until all books have been read and recorded. The child will receive stickers and discount coupons or free admission passes to different educational places. Children will also receive a raffle ticket for each book read. Raffle drawings will be held each Saturday beginning July 8th, until awards night. Each child who finishes the reading program will also receive a free PawSox ticket to a specified game. Additional tickets to that game can be purchased through the PawSox.
All books must be read and recorded by Saturday, August 5th.
REMINDER: Books may not be reported on after 5 pm on the nights of performances at the library
OPTIONAL: The children may draw pictures, hand in a written report, or bring in any type of art work related to their summer reading. During the month of August, these will be displayed in our Howard Silverman Community Room. Also, for children who would enjoy giving an oral report, TUESDAYS will be set aside for this purpose.
