A Universe of Stories
East Greenwich Free Library's
2019 Summer Reading Program
Ages 4 - 12
June 22 - August 3
Chances to win prizes! Receive stickers, beads, coupons to fun places, and more!
Registration begins Saturday, June 22. This year, you'll be tracking minutes read. Participants need to read 500 minutes to finish the program. Starting Monday, June 24, each time you spend 100 minutes reading, bring your take-home log into the library to record your minutes. This will be done 5 times until all minutes have been completed and recorded. If you know you'll be away when registration begins, take-home logs will be available to pick up from the library starting June 8, prior to the start of the program. Only log minutes after your summer break begins. Prizes will include coupons to local places, stickers, and more. You will receive a raffle ticket for each 100 minutes you read. Raffle basket drawings will be held each Saturday, beginning July 6, until the end of the program. All minutes must be read and recorded by Saturday, August 3. Minutes may not be logged after 5pm on the nights of performances or before 12pm on Saturday performance dates. You can create artwork or a written report each time you log minutes to receive an additional raffle ticket. During the month of August, the artwork and reports will be displayed in our Howard Silverman Community Room. Our Awards Party will take place on Wednesday, August 7. Parents and children are welcome to stop by the library between 4 – 6:00pm on that day to view the artwork on display, receive a certificate, a free book, and enjoy some light refreshments.
