We offer Internet access to our patrons through the library computer stations and also by providing wireless accessibility for those who choose to use their own laptops.
Providing access to the Internet enables the East Greenwich Free Library to greatly expand the information services that we offer our users.
The library cannot control the content of material on the Internet, however; viewing of certain materials in the public library may be considered improper in time, place or manner. Without wishing to censor access, the Library staff reserves the right to prohibit material that, in their judgment, is inappropriate for viewing in this public building.
Parents or guardians are responsible for the Internet information accessed by their minor children. Parental supervision of the Internet is advised to prevent access by minors to inappropriate matter on the Internet and the World Wide Web. Parental supervision is advised when minors are using electronic mail, chat rooms, and other forms of direct electronic communications.
For their own safety, minors should not disclose personal information on the Internet.
Unauthorized access, including "hacking" and other unlawful activities is forbidden and may result in loss of internet access at the library and a report to the local legal authorities.
