Kalyana Mitta is a Pali term which means "spiritual friend" or "wise companion."
The goal of this study group is to provide a setting for the exploration of mindfulness meditation topics and for the deepening development of mindfulness as a way of being in the world with wisdom and compassion.
The one-hour meeting will include short meditation exercises and a facilitated discussion of selected texts. Ideally, before and after the session there will also be an opportunity to share tea, socialize, and get to know one another as a small, friendly community.
No meditation experience is needed; however, a commitment to reading the texts and attending the meetings is a significant factor in the group's success. Therefore, registration is required. (Register once for all three meetings.) Please register no later than March 28, 2022 at programs@eastgreenwichlibrary.org
Group meetings are: Wednesday April 27 from 6-7 pm; Wednesday May 11 from 6-7 pm; Wednesday May 25 from 6-7 pm.
