About Crosswind Poetry Journal:
Rhode Island-based Crosswinds Poetry, now in its seventh year, is dedicated to publishing and distributing poetry books to the widest possible audience. Our annual poetry contest draws nearly two thousand poems from around the United States and abroad, and awards over $2,000.00 in prizes. The journal has also donated over $1,000 to the RI Community Food Bank over the years,
Contest judges have included former Rhode Island Poet Laureates Tom Chandler and Lisa Starr, current Rhode Island Poet Laureate Tina Cane, Pulitzer prize-winner Lloyd Schwartz, Presidential Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco and Poet Laureate of Connecticut, Margaret Gibson.

Dave’s poetry has appeared in Avocet, Bryant Literary Review, California Quarterly, Common Ground Review, Commonweal, Connecticut River Review, Main Street Rag, The Providence Journal, Rhode Island Public Radio, Trinity Repertory Theater, and other publications. Dave is the author of two poetry collections, Temperaments, published in 2016, and Primal, which is forthcoming from Main Street Rag. He is a member of The Academy of American Poets, The New England Poetry Club and Ocean State Poets.

Margie has led workshops in libraries, schools, conferences, and Women’s Centers. For 9 years, she was part of a team that continues to facilitate a poetry group at the medium security prison in Cranston, Rhode Island. Her work has appeared in the Boston Review, Yankee Magazine, Nimrod International Journal, Poetry East, The Main Street Rag, and other publications. She is the author of a poetry collection, The Persuasive Beauty of Imperfection. She is a member of Ocean State Poets.
