Introduction to Yoga

This program is perfect for those new to yoga or those who wish to fine tune their practice. You will experience the basic fundamentals of yoga postures, proper alignment, and breath awareness, as well as the benefits of each posture. This slow paced program guides students in gaining flexibility and building core strength. No prior experience is needed. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat (or towel, if you don't have a mat). Know that you will leave refreshed and renewed in this safe and enjoyable setting.

Kalyana Mitta Mindfulness Meditation Book Group

Kalyana Mitta is a Pali term which means "spiritual friend" or "wise companion."

The goal of this study group is to provide a setting for the exploration of mindfulness meditation topics and for the deepening development of mindfulness as a way of being in the world with wisdom and compassion.

The one-hour meeting will include short meditation exercises and a facilitated discussion of selected texts. Ideally, before and after the session there will also be an opportunity to share tea, socialize, and get to know one another as a small, friendly community.

Mindfulness Meditation

All are invited to participate in this virtual meditation program, sponsored and hosted by the Friends of East Greenwich Free Library. This event takes place every Monday between 6 and 7:30 pm.
